In all of the polls I looked at
Condoleezza Rice was nowhere to be found. I did however stumble across a
website that was conducting a straw poll for the 2016 Republican presidential
candidate, that had Condoleezza Rice’s name down as one of the options. Even
though straw polls are unofficial polling and the results are not very
accurate, I thought it would be interesting to complete it and see what
happened. I was hoping that after I completed the straw poll that I would be
able to see the results from everyone else that had completed it, instead I was
lead to a page asking for money.
The fact that the only poll I could
find Condoleezza Rice in was not an official poll proves that people do not
believe she is a possible candidate for the 2016 presidential election. Condoleezza
Rice has said on multiple occasions that she is not interested in holding an
elected office and that she wants to focus on being an educator not a
politician. I wonder if the fact she has said she is not interested in running
is why she is not listed in polls or if it is because people do not think that
she is a viable candidate. I would be curious to see how, if at all, the polls
were to change if Condoleezza Rice announced that she was running for
president. If she has changed her mind and does decide to run, as of right now
she would have a mountain to climb to achieve that goal.
I do not feel that the polls at this
time are very accurate. The only people who are really listed are the ones who
have already declared that they will be running and the people whom it is
assumed will run. Being two years out there is still plenty of time for people
to decide to run. There is also plenty of time for voters to change their minds
multiple times on whom it is they want to vote for. We are not entirely sure
who is running, and what it is the candidates’ stand for so it is too early to
start making assumptions as to who will win the primary election for each
party.
This is the website where I found the straw poll, for all of you who want to cast your opinion and get asked for money.

How does the fact that she isn't included in any polls affect her campaign later if she ultimately decides to run?
ReplyDeleteI think it could go one of two ways; either she will be high in the polls because she is someone new, or people will disregard her because she hasn't been a contender.
DeleteI've noticed that Condoleezza Rice has never really seriously mentioned anything about wanting to run for president. Do you think if people thought that she was seriously considering a bid that she would have done better in polling?
ReplyDeleteAs I said in my blog that is something that I have been wondering about. I think if people thought she was seriously considering running that she would at least be in the polls, I don't know how high up she would be at this time though.
DeleteI love the layout youve done with your blog and that picture at the top of her in the football uniform is badass. I liked the visuals you used, it made relating your words alot easier. Do you think that she is withholding her name from the polls for a reason?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your compliment, the picture of her in the Browns jersey is probably my favorite picture of her. I think the reason why her name isn't in the polls is because she isn't interested in running (at least not anytime soon) and I think the people know that.
DeleteI think that it was cool that you decided to follow through with the straw poll since there were not any true polls. Do you believe that she may change her mind and decide to run based on anything you've seen?
ReplyDeleteThe straw poll was all fun and games until they asked me for money. Nothing I have seen indicates that she is going to change her mind any time soon.
